Pat Egan recorded a hat trick and Joseph Pianta made 22 saves as the Buffalo Junior Sabres defeated Burlington (Ont.), 5-3, in an Ontario Junior Hockey League contest at Northtown Center in Amherst.

Egan leads Buffalo in goals (13) and points (34).

Canisius College commit Nolan Sheeran of East Amherst added a goal and an assist for the Junior Sabres (16-3-2), who are ranked ninth in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League poll out of more than 100 Junior A teams.

The Junior Sabres’ game on Monday against Milton at 4 p.m. has been moved to First Niagara Center. Admission is free, but the club asks fans attending the game to consider a voluntary donation at the door to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project in observance of Veterans Day.
