Last time out: UB reached the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl last season to cap an 8-5 campaign. Duquesne, 7-4 last year, is a lower-division team playing “up” for the first time ever.

Trending: No. 16 Joe Licata returns at QB to run an offense that averaged 30.3 ppg last year. He has a new cast of skill-position starters. No. 1 Anthone Taylor is the top RB, backed by No. 21 Devin Campbell and No. 2 Jordan Johnson (Sweet Home). At WR, the top targets are Boise Ross (87), Devon Hughes (13), Ron Willoughby (86), and Marcus McGill (7).

Stat Check: Duquesne had a good passing offense last year, led by QB Dillon Buechel. UB held foes to 52 percent completions last year. Let’s see how UB’s new-look secondary fares vs. a tall set of wideouts – Noel Oduho (1), Chris King (19) and Devin Rahming (7).

Star Gazing: Duquesne’s defense is led by two major-college transfers. OLB Armstead Williams (39) came from Purdue. S Chris Johnson (4) came from Florida and played in the Sugar and Gator Bowls for the Gators.

At Stake: UB has seven new starters on defense, and they need to become as assignment-sound as possible in preparation for the game against the high-flyin’ scoreboard-explodin’ Baylor Bears.
