Both the University at Buffalo and St. Bonaventure men’s basketball teams face difficult challenges on the road tonight.

Off to a 2-0 start in the Mid-American Conference after two home wins, the UB men take on perhaps their most difficult opponent since the opener at Texas A&M tonight at Toledo (7 p.m., Radio 1270).

Meanwhile, Bona (11-5, 1-1 Atlantic 10) will be taking on a ranked opponent on the road for the second game in a row, squaring off against 24th-ranked Saint Louis (15-2, 2-0) in the Chaifetz Center in St. Louis at 8 p.m.

Toledo’s Rockets (13-2, 1-1 MAC) have lost only at No. 16 Kansas, by 10 points, and at Western Michigan. All five Toledo starters are scoring in double figures led by Rian Pearson at 15.7 points per game. Junior guard Julius Brown is third in the nation averaging 7.3 assists per game.

UB (8-4, 2-0 MAC) has won four in a row since an overtime loss against Manhattan in Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Dec. 21. UB has won the last five games against Toledo, but trails in the rivalry between the schools, 11-7.

Bona, which lost at No. 19 Massachusetts last Saturday, will run into a Billikens team that has lost only to two teams that were unbeaten – Wisconsin and Wichita State – before Tuesday. They are led by Dwayne Evans, who is averaging 15.1 points and 6.2 rebounds a game.

While the UB men are in Toledo, the UB women’s team (7-7, 0-3) will be home against Toledo (7-7, 2-1). Coach Felicia Legette-Jack’s team will be attempting to snap a three-game losing streak against the four-time reigning MAC West champions. The St. Bonaventure women (12-6, 1-2 A-10) also will be at home, looking for an eighth straight victory over LaSalle (9-7, 4-0 A-10) in a 7 p.m. start in the Reilly Center.
