Jenn Suhr (Fredonia) claimed her sixth national title in the pole vault late Friday night at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, taking place in Sacramento, Calif.

Suhr cleared 15 feet, 1 inch to win the event. She later missed three attempts at 15-9¾.

Sandi Morris of Arkansas finished second.

Suhr has been the best American pole vaulter for the last eight years, and the world’s top-ranked vaulter for two. She holds the American indoor and outdoor record, and won a gold medal in the event in the 2012 Olympic Games.
