Bills-Jets report card
Grading the Bills
Running game
A Terrific effort. Ran for 187 yards as a team. Lynch had 127 and a 6.0 average. If not for Jauron's brutal pass call, would have been A+.
Passing game
D Losman had three interceptions and the fatal fumble. None of 24 completions went for more than 14 yards. Never tried a deep ball.
Run defense
D Washington's 47-yard touchdown just before halftime was a killer. Favre's 27-yard scamper was his longest run in 10 years.
Pass defense
B Played great second half to keep team in the game, holding Favre to 5-for-13 passing for 58 yards. No sacks, though.
Special teams
B+ Parrish had big punt return. Moorman had a big game. Fake punt worked. If only Corto hadn't held on McKelvin's 100-yard kickoff return.
Coaching
F Team played hard. But Jauron's decision to have Losman throw was the kind of call that gets coaches fired. We can only hope.
Grading the Jets
Running game
A- Averaged 6.9 per carry. Washington's 47-yard TD was a game-changer. Jones was solid and set team record for TDs in season.
Passing game
D Once again, Favre kept the opposition in the game with bad throws. Didn't stretch field and threw two picks.
Run defense
F Far cry from dominant effort in Buffalo. Lynch was a beast. Jackson carried half the roster into the end zone.
Pass defense
A- Prevented Losman from beating them deep. Looked soft during Bills' go-ahead drive. Should send Jauron a Christmas card for last call.
Special teams
D Punt coverage suspect. Kickoff coverage suspect. Should be thankful for holding call on Corto.
Coaching
C Made smart decision to go after Losman on critical play at end. At least one coaching staff knew he couldn't be trusted.
