Bills wrap up bye week workouts
The Buffalo Bills called it a wrap on their bye week today.
Coach Dick Jauron dismissed the players until Monday after the team practiced for a second straight day in the morning and held team meetings in the afternoon. The Bills originally had been scheduled to have a third practice for the week on Thursday. That was called off.
The team will have a full practice on Monday when it returns and resumes preparation for its next game, at home against the San Diego Chargers on Oct. 19.
"We have a few guys banged up, including myself, so this gives us a chance to get back healthy for the long run," said Bills defensive tackle Marcus Stroud, who has nursed a sore shoulder the past week. "We're about to hit the meat of our schedule. We have important games, coming up starting with San Diego. We're going to go out and prepare hard next week and get ready for a great game on Sunday."
Bills quarterback Trent Edwards reported to team headquarters again Wednesday morning and spent time in the facility. But he was excused from practice in the wake of the concussion he suffered Sunday at Arizona. The team said there was nothing new to report on his status. His condition continues to be monitored. Bills players again expressed optimism that Edwards would recover in good shape from the hit.
