Bills season ticket sales near record level
The Buffalo Bills have reached 54,200 season ticket sales, the team announced today.
The total is the third highest in franchise history, with five weeks still remaining to sell season tickets. The franchise record for season sales is 57,132 set in the team's third Super Bowl season Ñ 1992. The second highest mark, which is in danger of being surpassed, was 54,604 in 1991.
The Bills also announced that the remaining tickets -- a limited number of individual game seats -- will go on sale to the general public on Aug. 21. This is about a month later than normal and is a result of the strong season sales. Fans who are registered as "Bills Backers" through the team's Web site will get the first crack at individual-game sales. Bills Backers will be able to order tickets starting at 8 a.m. Aug. 21. It's free to join. Then at noon on Aug. 21, any remaining tickets will be available to the general public through Ticketmaster outlets or the team's ticket office.
