Bisons blanked again
B.J. Szymanski's sacrifice fly to center field broke a scoreless tie in the ninth inning and gave Louisville a 1-0 win over the Buffalo Bisons in front of 13,333 in Dunn Tire Park on Friday night.
It was the first time the Bisons suffered back-to-back shutouts at home since Aug. 3-4, 2003, when Pawtucket won by scores of 4-0 and 5-0.
Jason Cooper tripled in the second inning for the Bisons, giving him 18 career triples and moving him into third on the franchise's all-time list.
Bats starter Ramon Ramirez threw seven scoreless innings, scattering three hits with seven strikeouts. Bisons starter David Huff went five innings, giving up four hits with five strikeouts.
The series continues Saturday when the teams meet at 7:05 p.m. in Dunn Tire Park.
