The latest Bisons mishap came hours before the start of Monday night’s scheduled game against the Durham Bulls.|
Herd center fielder Brad Snyder was scratched from the lineup after he smacked his head on a concrete overhang in the clubhouse tunnel, becoming bloodied but not seriously injured.
Snyder was low-bridged when he sprinted full speed through the tunnel leading to the clubhouse.
If more evidence was needed to show fortune was not on the Herd’s side, heavy rains began to fall just as they were threatening to take the lead. Ultimately, the game was suspended after a 1-hour-and-50 minute rain delay.
“That’s frustrating,” manager Torey Lovullo said.
The game, which was called at 9:41 p. m., will be made up today, resuming at 5:30 p. m. (Radio 1520) with one out in the bottom of the third and the Bison’s trailing, 2-1. A seven-inning game will follow.
Fans holding tickets to Monday’s game can exchange them for any future game this season (excluding special events).
The Bisons will have the makings of a rally when play resumes with runners at second and third and a 2-0 count on Jason Cooper.
“That’s one good way to look at it,” Lovullo said. “We’re searching for any positives right now.”
