Brett Heath gave St. Bonaventure (5-16) the lead with a three-run homer in the first inning and Brian Weightman added a solo shot later as the Bonnies defeated the University at Buffalo, 6-4, to earn a split of their nonconference baseball doubleheader Tuesday at Fred Handler Field in Olean.

The Bulls (12-10) won the opener, 4-3, when Nick Sinay singled home Matt Pollock with the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Cory Folk pitched three innings of shutout relief to gain the win for UB and Jimmy Topps went 3 for 4 in the opener for the Bulls and 5 for 8 on the day.
