St. Bonaventure won the Atlantic 10 Men’s Swimming and Diving championship for the second year in a row. They scored 718 points over the four-day meet to win by a 94-point margin over Massachusetts.
Sophomore Michael Pilyugin was named the Most Outstanding Performer of the meet.
The Bonnies won three events, all in conference record times, to ensure their repeat. They took gold in the 100 freestyle as Viachaslev Shchukin broke his own A-10 record in 43:42.
In the 200 backstroke, Pilyugin set an A-10 record of 1:45.14. The Bonnies won the meet’s final event, the 400 free relay as Pilyugin, Shchukin, Ripley Danner and Jimmy Martin touched in an A-10 record 2:55.48.
