Brittany Taylor scored the go-ahead goal off a free kick in the 79th minute and the Washington Spirit defeated the Western New York Flash, 3-2, at the Maryland Soccer Complex in Boyds, Md.

The Flash (3-2-1) which had led, 2-1, finished the game with 10 players after Angela Salem was given a red card in the 94th minute, with one minute left in stoppage time. Salem received a yellow card for a hard foul in the 75th minute.

Taylor scored the first goal of the game in the 11th minute, chipping the ball over goalkeeper Kelsey Wys after a pass from Lindsey. Abby Wambach headed in a ball from Vicky Losada in the 17th minutes to tie it for the Flash and WNY went in front when Carli Lloyd scored her first of the season in the 30th minute. The Spirit (3-4-0)tied it on an own-goal by the Flash in the 70th minute and Taylor struck with her game-winning not long after.

The Flash will go on the road for games at Portland on day and Seattle next Sunday. The next home game will be May 31 against the expansion Houston Dash.
