Hope Solo is back in uniform for the first-place Seattle Reign, but it’s not certain she will be in goal for tonight’s National Women’s Soccer League game against the Western New York Flash at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester.
Solo, who must appear in court next month after she was charged and jailed after allegedly assaulting her own family members in an incident last month, was in uniform for a 0-0 draw with Sky Blue FC in Seattle last Saturday but did not play. The U.S. National team goalkeeper had returned to practice last week.
Seattle brings an 11-0-3 record in its second trip to Rochester in less than two weeks. The Reign defeated the Flash, 2-1, at Sahlen’s on June 22.
The Flash (6-7-2) is coming off a 2-1 victory over the last place Boston Breakers on Friday. Carli Lloyd, who scored both goals for WNY, was named NWSL Player of the Week. WNY can take over sole possession of third place with a win.
WNY again will be without star Abby Wambach, who is still rehabilitating at her home in Portland, Ore., after suffering a knee injury last month.
