Philadelphia 4, Tampa Bay 3 (OT): Mike Richards scored two goals, including the winner 2:05 into overtime, and the Flyers sent the Lightning to their fifth straight loss. Jeff Carter scored the other two Philadelphia goals and added an assist. Carter is tied with Buffalo’s Thomas Vanek for the league lead with 18 goals.
Florida 5, Washington 3: Craig Anderson, whose .943 save percentage is the best in the NHL, stopped 23 shots and earned his second straight win for the Panthers.
Montreal 5, Atlanta 4: Andrei Kostitsyn scored with 5:11 remaining and the Canadiens recovered from blowing a three-goal lead earlier in the third period.
Phoenix 4, Los Angeles 2: Enver Lisin scored twice in a four-minute span of the third period for the Coyotes. Shane Doan and Martin Hanzal also scored, and one-time backup goalie Mikael Tellqvist made 32 saves for the Coyotes.
Dallas 3, Calgary 1: Marty Turco played one of his best games of the season, making 36 saves for the Stars.
San Jose 5, Toronto 2: Joe Thornton had a goal and three assists as the Sharks (21-3-1) matched the best start in NHL history through 25 games. The Montreal Canadiens also had 43 points through 25 games in the 1943-44 season, going 20-2-3.
