Invasion of the emerald ash borer has prompted nurseries to raise tree stock that will suitably grow in areas where ash trees may be killed by borer infestation.
Erie County Soil and Water Conservation District provides numerous ash alternatives for tree growers as well as sizeable mature, conifer transplants to speed evergreen growth. Black chokeberry and spicebush have been added to the shrub listing to attract pollinators to your property.
Erie County accepts orders to March 14 for pick-up on April 12 except for the American chestnut stock set for April 26.
