All Sports
- Thurman Thomas Sports Training will hold a college performance camp from May 15-Aug. 1 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $349.
- Sweet Home Community Education runs two sessions of its Junior Panthers Sports Camp, for boys and girls ages 7-14. Camp will consist of multiple games and activities, focusing on skill development, rules, sportsmanship and safety. Baseball camp is July 6-10 from 9-11 a.m. Cost is $70. Rock Climbing camp is July 13-17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at a cost of $130. Campers must bring their own lunch. Call 250-1424.
- The 25th "Lifting As We Climb" Willie "Hutch" Jones Sports Clinics are open to boys and girls ages 7-16. The sessions will be held at various times and locations for each activity. Programs begin July 6. Skills training available in the following sports: basketball, chess, football, golf, track, soccer, softball, tap dance, volleyball, tennis, violence prevention and conflict resolution, and Spanish. - The Girls Athletic League's sports camp at Mount Mercy Academy, 88 Red Jacket Parkway, is July 6-10 for girls ages 7-12. Sports include: basketball, soccer, softball, golf, lacrosse, tennis, volleyball, and track and field. Cost is $150 for members or $160 for new members (sibling rates available). - Orchard Park Community Education will offer a Summer Intramural Program for grades 5-8 which will include dodgeball, kickball and other sports of interest. Intramurals will meet twice a week from noon to 2 p.m. beginning July 27. Call 209-6295.
Architecture
- The Wright Experience, two summer design studio workshops for children entering grades 4-6 and 6-8, will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. July 20-24 and July 27-31 at Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin Martin House, 125 Jewett Parkway. Participants in grades 4-6 will experience this architectural masterpiece through seeing, learning and building. Participants in grades 6-8 will focus on drawing and photography of architectural elements and nature. Cost is $175 each; $150 for Martin House members. Enrollment is limited. Call 856-3858.
Art
- Art lovers ages 10-12 are invited to attend camp at Harlem Road Community Center to learn different techniques using an assortment of media. Two sessions run July 27-31 or Aug. 10-14 from 8:30-11 a.m. Cost is $125. Contact tcardinal@shs.k12.ny.us.
- Artpark in Lewiston will offer two weekly sessions of art camp, including drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, textile, photographic and design. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning July 6 and 13. Cost is $200. - Designing Dish in East Aurora offers two-day summer workshops Tuesdays and Thursdays for 5- to 10-year olds, running from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays most weeks during the summer, beginning July 7. - Lov'n Clay, 5574 Main St., Williamsville, is offering various weekly camps for children beginning June 29. You can register for one of nine sessions, including a new session introducing glass fusing, Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $140 with a $15 discount for signing up before May 30. - Fine Art Miracles will hold an inter-generational summer art camp at various nursing homes this summer. Classes are for ages 7-13 and cost $75 for a week, and include a free set of watercolor tubes. Sessions will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. at the following locations: Aug. 3 at St. Elizabeth, Aug. 4 at Elderwood at Lakewood, Aug. 5 at Absolute Care, Aug. 6 at Seneca Health Center and Aug. 7 at Greenfield Health and Rehab. Also, from June 29-July 3, a class called Deconstructing Picaso will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. for ages 7-13. Cost is $100 per student, including supplies, at 144 Center St., East Aurora. - Camp Clay Town at 6312 Robinson Road in Lockport features arts and crafts experiences for ages 5-16. The focus is on painting pottery, but also includes drawing, clay, composition, art history and mosaics. Weekly camps begin July 7 and run through Aug. 28. - Parkside Community Association will hold a summer art camp for children ages 5-11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for three weeks beginning July 6. Cost is $65. Class will be held at Delaware Park. A typical class consists of jewelry making, dance, creative writing and other art forms. Kids must be eligible for a free or reduced-price lunch. Call 838-1240.
Baseball-Softball
- The University at Buffalo will host three sessions of baseball camp. Session I is June 29-July 1 for ages 13-17 at the Amherst Pepsi Center and costs $140. Session II is July 6-9 for ages 7-12 at UB North Campus athletic fields and costs $175. Session III is Aug. 10-12 for ages 7-12 at the UB North Campus fields and costs $140. - The University at Buffalo will hold two softball camps at Nan Harvey Field on the North Campus. Camp for girls ages 12-18 is July 12-15 and costs $175. Camp for girls ages 6-11 is July 28-29 and costs $125. Each camp runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Focus will be on fundamentals of all defensive positions and hitting. Register online at www.ubcamps.com.
- Canisius College will hold an all-position girls softball camp June 29-July 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The pitching camp is July 6-9 from 3:15-5:15 p.m. Applications and registration available online at www.gogriffs.com or call 888-2975.
- Team New Era is holding two sessions of baseball camp July 13-16 and Aug. 4-7, for players ages 7-12. Camp runs 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily and is located at New Era Park, 6856 S. Transit Road, Lockport. Highlights include skills events, open competitions, scrimmage games, and prizes. Each player will receive a practice jersey and New Era cap. Lunch will be provided. - The 18th annual Clarence baseball youth camp will hold three sessions: June 29-July 3, July 6-10, July 13-17 for boys and girls ages 6-16. Camp runs 9-11:30 a.m. each day and is held at Goodrich Road baseball fields in Clarence. Fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding, running, pitching, and catching will be covered. - Sandlot Academy of WNY is holding four sessions of its summer camp: July 7-10, July 13-16, July 27-30, Aug. 3-6 and is open to ages 7-12. Features include in-depth fundamentals of baseball, games, and activities. Call 689-0012.

Basketball (boys)
- The University at Buffalo men's basketball program, led by head coach Reggie Witherspoon, will host several camps. The College Prospect Camp is for high school athletes interested in continuing their playing career in college. Students in grades 9-12 will be instructed by the UB coaching staff and players, doing the same drills used by the Division I Bulls. Camp runs June 6-7 in Alumni Arena at UB's North Campus. Space is limited in order to maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio. Cost is $129 for day campers and $195 for overnight campers (overnight fee includes four meals). Each attendee will receive a UB reversible jersey, water bottle and free admission to the UB men's and women's home openers. .‚.‚. Full week camps (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily) for boys entering grades 3-12 will be held June 29-July 3 and July 27-31. The cost is $199 for one week or $369 for both (team and family discounts available). The five-day camp features one-on-one teaching, skill-enhancement drills, instructional lectures and videos, and team play. All campers will receive a UB workout shirt, personalized evaluations, and tickets to UB men's and women's home openers. Campers in grades 3-6 will receive a complimentary membership in the Junior Bulls Club. .‚.‚. The UB Team Camp, open to all high school varsity and junior varsity teams, will be held July 31 (6-10 p.m.) and Aug. 1 (9 a.m. to 10 p.m.) The event will include a tournament format with a four-game guarantee. - Medaille men's basketball coach Mike MacDonald will host two one-week sessions at the Medaille campus. Boys ages 6-14 are invited to attend Session One from July 6-10 or Session Two on Aug. 3-7. Both sessions run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include games, contests, lectures and individual instruction. All campers will receive a reversible jersey, T-shirt, basketball, and water bottle. - Buffalo State College will hold a camp July 6-10 from 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Enrollment is open to boys entering grades 4-12 at a cost of $150 before June 1. Team discounts are available. - The Hilbert College Basketball Camp will be held June 28-July 2 and July 12-16 at the college in Hamburg. Cost is $350 for an overnight camper and $260 for day campers. - The Kenmore West Boys Basketball Camp will be held July 13-17. Boys varsity coach Jim Badgley along with other boys basketball staff will focus on offensive and defensive strategies. - The Park School in Snyder will hold its boys camp Aug. 17-21 for ages 8-14. The camp will feature college coaches and players. Sessions run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The cost is $150 with basic registration by July 27, $190 basic with extended day care (3-4 p.m.), $165 late registration, $205 late registration with extended day care. - The 12th Annual Clarence Boys Camp, run by varsity coach Todd Banaszak, will be held June 29-July 2 at Clarence high school. Camp runs 8 a.m. until noon for boys entering grades 4-9. - The 31st annual Sunrise Optimist Basketball Clinic will be held at Lockport High School. The Varsity/JV clinic for boys entering grades 9-12 will run July 13-17 from noon to 4 p.m. The JV/Modified clinic for boys entering grades 6-9 will run July 6-10 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. The camp is directed by Lockport High School coaching staff and Wilson Varsity Coach Brett Sipple. - Quaker basketball camp will be held June 29-July 2 at "The Hub" in Hamburg. Boys grades 9-12 meet 9 a.m. to noon, and grades 5-8 meet 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Emphasis is placed on offensive and defensive skill development, footwork, and competitive drills. Cost is $65. - Niagara University will host a camp for boys and girls June 29-July 3 and Aug. 3-7. Openings are available for athletes ages 8-16. - Kats Elite Basketball Camp with Erie Community College head women's basketball coach Natosha Cummings-Price is set for June 29-July 3 at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center and is open to boys and girls 7-15. It runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and places an emphasis on fundamentals. Cost is $175. Register by June 1. Head men's basketball coach Alex Nwora will run camp July 6-10 at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center for boys and girls ages 5-17. - The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks will host two summer camps, June 23-25 at the Family First Sports Park, 8155 Oliver Rd. Head coach John Treloar and Assistant Ben McDonald will focus the teaching on ball handling, passing, shooting, drills, contest, and games. Clutch's Jr. Hoopsters Camp is for grades 1-3 and costs $90 which includes lunch, T-shirt, and BayHawks Kids Club membership. Primetime Camp is divided into grades 4-6 and 7-9. Cost varies. - Orchard Park High School hosts a camp for boys and girls June 29-July 2. Grades 9-12 meet from 8-11 a.m. and grades 5-8 meet from noon to 3 p.m. The camp is directed by varsity coach Bob Rumschik. Call the Community Education office at 209-6295.

- The fifth annual Big Red basketball camp for boys and girls in grades K-5 will run Aug. 10-14 at Clarence Church of Christ. K-2nd grade camp runs two hours in the morning and grades 3-5 camp runs three hours midmorning. Camp director is Todd Banaszak, varsity coach at Clarence High School. - The Niagara PAL team camp will run July 11 at Niagara Falls High School. There will be separate divisions for boys and girls. Teams will have the chance to play two competitive games. Cost is $60. For information contact Sal Constantino at 228-7916.
- The Maryvale Boys and Girls camp will take place July 13-17. Boys and girls in entering grades 4-9 are invited to attend 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily. The camp will include all phases of the game, league play, individual contests, and awards. Cost is $65 and includes camp T-shirt. .‚.‚. Maryvale will also host the Hoopville Shooting Camp June 29, 30, and July 1. This instructional camp runs 9 a.m. to noon and is for boys and girls from grade 5 through college. Camp features pre-and-post camp evaluations, shooting instruction, drills, and T-shirt. Cost is $50 per day, $70 for two days, or $90 for all three. - The Family 25 Inc. presents the fourth annual Miguel Respress Student-Athlete Basketball Summer Program, starting May 30 and running through July 18. Boys and girls ages 6-15 are eligible in three different divisions. League limit is 500 participants. Play will be held at the Ellicott Masten YMCA (585 William St.) and McCarthy Park (345 E. - The Kenmore West girls basketball camp will be held July 6-10. Girls varsity coach Mike Licata along with Jeff Martin, Joe Catalano, and Paul Catalano will focus on offensive and defensive strategies with individual and group instruction. - The University at Buffalo women's basketball program, led by head coach Linda Hill-MacDonald, will hold a one day elite position clinic on June 13 and a developmental camp Aug. 2-5. Cost of the clinic is $40, and is open to girls in grades 10-12. Cost of the camp, open to girls in grades 4-12, is $230. UB will host a team camp Aug. 7-8 for $440 per team. YMCA-YWCA
- The YMCA Buffalo Niagara offers a summer day camp at 18 WNY locations for children ages 3-15. Weekly themed activities include arts and crafts, sports and games, and outdoor education. Camp Tahigwa offers a day camp experience for grades K-10 which includes canoeing, archery, and low ropes courses. Campers in grades 1-11 can participate in one or two week sessions at Camp Weona with activities including horseback riding, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, and crafts.
