Pacquiao KOs Hatton

Story tools:

LAS VEGAS—Manny Pacquiao turned in perhaps the most dominating performance of his career, knocking Ricky Hatton down twice in the first round before finally stopping him with a ferocious left hand in the final seconds of the second round.

Pacquiao showed why he is considered the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world with a stunning knockout that left Hatton lying motionless on his back in the middle of the ring.

Before the fight, Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced he was ending his 11- month retirement.

“I guess I just missed boxing,” Mayweather said. “Somebody’s got to keep the sport up and running.”

Mayweather will return July 18 against lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who will move up two weight classes.
