Portland begins AHL playoffs

The Portland Pirates will begin play in the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup playoffs tonight at 7:05 p. m. when they play at Providence in the opening game of the best-of- seven division semifinals. 
Game Two will be Friday in Providence at 7 p. m., then the series shifts to Portland for games Sunday at 4 p. m. and April 23 at 7 p. m.
