Bottom Line: Second-ranked Ohio State struck early with big strikes then put UB away with clock-devouring second-half scoring drives of 91 and 76 yards.

Turning Point: UB was down 10 when Khalil Mack forced a Braxton Miller fumble deep in Buckeye territory. UB’s Tedroy Lynch recovered. It looked like the Bulls would be in business at the Ohio State 2. But wait. There’s a flag down. Mack is being called for illegal hands to the face. The play is negated. Exhale, Buckeye fans.

Play of the Game: Ohio State running back Jordan Hall popped the same play twice, going for first-half TD runs of 49 and 37 yards.

Player of the Game: Mack dominated with nine tackles, 2.5 sacks and an interception for a touchdown. His draft stock just keeps going up and up.

Unsung: Bulls defensive end Colby Way produced 6.5 tackles and two tackles for loss.

In the House: The crowd of 103,980 is the second-largest ever to see a UB game.

Next Up: There’s no rest for the Bulls. It’s on to Baylor, home of one of the country’s more explosive offenses. They meet at 3:30 Saturday in Waco, Texas.
