• First-round draft pick Hasheem Thabeet has signed with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 7-foot-3 center from Connecticut was the second pick in the draft. Thabeet is due to make about $7.7 million over two years under the rookie salary scale. Thabeet averaged 13.6 points, nearly 11 rebounds and four blocks per game at UConn last season and was named Big East co-player of the year.

• Former NBA all-star Antoine Walker appeared briefly in a Las Vegas court to face criminal charges in a case involving an $822,500 casino gambling debt. The 6-foot-9 Walker said nothing inside or outside the courtroom as he appeared Monday with his lawyer, Jonathan Powell, on three felony counts of writing bad checks. Powell also declined comment. Each charge carries a possible one-to four-year prison term. Walker remains free on $135,000 cash bail posted Thursday following his arrest at a Lake Tahoe hotel.

• Minnesota forward Mark Madsen said Monday that he has been traded along with Sebastian Telfair and Craig Smith to the Los Angeles Clippers for Quentin Richardson. Madsen said his agent confirmed the deal, which was first reported by YahooSports.com. Richardson averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds last season for the New York Knicks. This is the third time the shooting guard has been traded this summer.

• The Chicago Bulls have waived backup guard Anthony Roberson. Acquired from the New York Knicks in February, Roberson appeared in just six games with the Bulls and averaged 2.0 points. He has averaged 4.1 points in three seasons, including stops with Memphis and Golden State.
