The Rochester Americans’ season came to an end on Sunday afternoon, as they dropped a 4-2 decision to the Chicago Wolves in the fifth and deciding game of the first-round series in the American Hockey League playoffs.

Chicago advanced to meet Toronto in a Western Conference semifinal.

Brayden Irwin and Luke Adam scored for the Amerks, who couldn’t hold on to a 2-1 lead.

Dmitrij Jaskin’s goal for Chicago broke a 2-2 tie late in the second period, and Taylor Chorney tallied into an empty net to wrap up the win.

Goalie Jake Allen, who was pulled by the Wolves in a Game Four loss, stopped 21 of 23 shots in Game Five.
