Yes, Nov. 13, 2013 did happen as LaFontaine, Nolan returned

Nov. 13, 2013 should be a date to stand out in Buffalo Sabres’ history as the team righted two wrongs that have stuck with Sabres fans over the last 16 years. Pat LaFontaine and Ted Nolan have finally come back home to the Blue and Gold.

That is how you get the attention of a city of hardworking hockey fans, that change is finally coming to the Buffalo Sabres after a brutal start to this season where results didn’t seem to be adding up to the young talent that had started to crack the roster. Growth as a team will take time, but win or lose, a gutsy effort is all I’ve ever asked for, and I have nothing but confidence that’s what I’ll get night in and night out with the class and heart now leading the Sabres.

I know I woke up Thursday morning and checked The News just to be sure Wednesday really happened – surreal and emotional as it was, and thankfully it wasn’t a just dream. If the Maple Leafs were weary after the circus that was this preseason against Buffalo, they likely have a call into their equipment manager to bring out the brown pants for this weekend against the Sabres with Ted Nolan’s return behind the bench.
