Carlee Conway authored the perfect finish to her flawless scholastic tennis career Sunday.
The Sacred Heart senior captured her fourth straight All-Catholic singles championship, beating Nardin’s Madison Bradley, 6-1, 6-1, at Delaware Park. With the win, Conway finished her scholastic career with a 56-0 record (singles and doubles combined).
She dropped the first game of each set before changing her game plans and reeling off six straight wins.
“I knew I had to work for it,” said Conway, who won last year’s Buffalo MUNY Tennis women’s singles championship.
The U.S. Naval Academy Foundation is sponsoring Conway for two semesters at the Marion Military Institute in Alabama. It’s a prep school the Naval Academy uses for gifted athletes and then she’ll enroll in the Naval Academy in fall 2015.
