1. Canisius boys basketball. Impressive home win over Aquinas in a showdown of two of the best in this end of the state.

2. Bishop Timon-St Jude hockey. Streaking Tigers earned top seed for Niagara Cup playoffs (and some made sure I knew that after St. Joe’s and Canisius hockey were on PrepTalkTV).

3. Clarence wrestling. The class of local wrestling, as teams head to the Section VI Class tournaments this weekend.

4. Olean boys basketball. Followed up loss to vaunted Greece-Athena in Rochester with an offensive display in winning in Timon’s not-so-easy-to-win-in Palano gym.

5. Middle Early College boys basketball. Tough to beat a week where you topple East and McKinley to become Yale Cup front-runners.

6. St. Francis wrestlers, bowlers and tweeters. @SFHS_Athletics was excellent Thursday, reporting All-Catholic titles in wrestling and boys bowling.

7. Cardinal O’Hara girls basketball. They’ve got losses to out-of-town toughies, but they keep beating top local teams on their great schedule, too.

8. Canisius boys swimming. Expected coronation at the All-Catholic meet Tuesday at ECC-City’s Flickinger Center

9. Niagara Wheatfield boys bowling. Completed the first-ever undefeated season in Niagara Frontier League boys bowling.

10. Kenmore girls hockey. Another Section VI championship and a trip to states this weekend.
