Sue Pernick got an extension on the end of her coaching career on Friday as Lancaster stunned Orchard Park in three games, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-19, to advance to the final of the Section VI Class AA volleyball playoffs. Pernick has announced her retirement at the end of the season.

The Redskins play Frontier for the title at Sweet Home on Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Falcons beat Lockport, 27-25, 25-21 and 25-21. Sydney Rojek had 22 assists and Kaitlyn Long had 10 digs.

Kaitlin Mohn had 12 kills and four aces and Meg Warrington added 10 kills with 10 blocks.

Class A semifinal: Sweet Home beat Williamsville North, 25-18, 31-29 and 25-20, as Jenna Reeser had 23 kills. No. 3 Williamsville East needed five games to beat No. 19 Hamburg, 25-19, 26-28, 26-24, 17-25 and 25-23. Natalie Berrafato had 63 assists. Kaitlin Novak had 12 kills to go with six block. Sweet Home will face Williamsville East on Tuesday at Sweet Home at 6 p.m.

Class B semifinal: Starpoint won over Depew, 25-23, 24-26, 29-25 and 25-21, led by Erica Bradley’s eight kills, six blocks and three aces. Albion downed Cheektowaga, 25-13, 25-13 and 25-16. Kelsee Soule led the Purple Eagles with 12 kills and three aces. Starpoint plays Albion on Monday at Sweet Home at 8 p.m.

Class C semifinals: Southwestern advanced with a win over Allegany-Limestone, 25-22, 25-22, 19-25 and 25-16. Maddy Alexander had four aces, seven kills and three blocks. Eden beat Wilson, 25-9, 25-13, 25-14. Laney Pierce had 39 assists. Southwestern plays Eden on Monday at Sweet Home at 6 p.m.

GIRLS SOCCER: City Honors won the Radcliffe Cup with a 5-1 win over Olmsted. Molly Petrucci netted four goals.
