Green is soccer MVP

Shane Green of Hamburg was the MVP, adding three more goals to his total as the Bulldogs were one of four teams to go undefeated (2-0) in the Coaches vs. Cancer ECIC-Niagara Frontier League soccer challenge that wrapped up Saturday at Sweet Home.

Green led a 4-1 victory over Kenmore West on Saturday and finished with nine goals in two games.

Starpoint, behind two shutouts by Sam Delprince, Williamsville East, South and North also were 2-0.

ECIC had a 12-2 advantage in the interleague competition.

Clarence girls win

Sydney Cerza’s second goal with 10 minutes left give Clarence a 2-1 victory over Baldwinsville of Section III in the championship game of the Clarence Boosters Tournament. Cerza scored in the 55th minute to tie the game. The winner came off a free kick by Shannon Carr.
