The East Aurora boys soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Pittsford-Mendon in a Class A Far West Regional Friday in East Rochester.

The Blue Devils finish 18-2-1. Pitt-Mendon’s goal came on a corner kick in the first half. EA coach Kevin Beale said his team had two goals called back in the first half on questionable calls.

In Class D, Ellicottville saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 loss to Jasper-Troupsburg. The Eagles (11-7) advanced to the Regionals after winning the program’s first Section VI title.

Jasper-Troupsburg scored 9 minutes into game and then added two goals in the second half. The Eagles managed just two shots on goal

“I was just talking with the players that this was definitely a learning experience,” said coach Matt Finn. “We’ve seen the next level we need to get to.”
