The Buffalo-area girls basketball team split two games on Friday on the opening day of the BCANY Tournament at Johnson City near Binghamton.

Buffalo lost the first game to Adirondack, 64-57, despite 17 points from Immaculata’s Jordan Heinold. Buffalo rebounded to beat Mid-Hudson, 74-55, behind three players in double figures: Katherine Ryan (Sacred Heart) 17 points, Summer Hemphill (Buffalo Arts) 11 points and Heinold with 10. The team plays another doubleheader today starting with Suffolk at noon and the Southern Tier at 2:30 p.m.
