Frontier handed Jamestown its second loss in high school baseball's ECIC I division, 8-4, on Monday behind the pitching of Grant Wrap. The highlight of game was a sensational catch by Frontier outfielder Mike Grundtisch, who tracked a long fly ball by Cody Kane and make a backhand grab just before crashing into the fence.
Grundtisch's hat came off in the collision but he somehow held onto the ball. He suffered facial cuts and had to be taken to a medical facility for treatment. Buffalo News photographer Mark Mulville captured this remarkable play in a series of photos that accompany this story.
