Grand Island Vikings (7-2)
Coach: Dean Santorio, 14th season

Junior Chris Aronica returns at DT and will add OT to his duties. Junior Jarod Brandon got called up last year in Week Three and led the team in rushing with just over 800 yards. He’ll be joined in the backfield by senior T.J. Morgan at FB. Center Mike Podlucky is the last of three football-playing brothers. The Vikings open with defending Class A champion Williamsville North. The schools split two games last year. The Spartans beat GI in the playoffs in double OT to reach The Ralph.

They’ll have to block him,” said Chimera. RB/LB Kurt McGowan gets to the hole quickly on offense and is tough to block on defense. He led the Bulldogs in tackles last year. Returning TE/DE Steve Nadrowski has put on some size and gotten more physical. Senior QB Andy Fields will take the snaps after being the backup last year. He’s been offered from Central Connecticut and is also looking at some Ivy League schools. Ryan McDonough will be busy moving between RB/WR/DB. Returning to the OL are Alex Molik, Taylor Mellott and Nick Kozlowski. Mellott is also a hard-hitting LB with great instincts who is difficult to block in space. He’s very talented, he has great hands, he’s very strong and he’s going to pose a challenge against other linemen.” The Frontiers have plenty of team speed led by senior RB/S James Coleman and RB Alex Johnson. At RB/slot will be Leseaon Washington, a transfer from Las Vegas who his teammates call “Vegas.” WR Davon Gant is a 6-4 WR with plenty of potential. Center Reggie Boone refocused after last season and told Rodriguez he was going to earn the starting spot at center. He’s been snapping since February. Wayne LeBlanc is a key OL/DL. Captain and three-year starter DE/OT Rich Duermeyer has been working his way back from a knee injury.
