Assistant coach Pedro Losa again will fill in for head coach Aaran Lines and Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd will miss the game tonight when the Western York Flash attempts to start at win streak tonight (7:30 p.m.) against the Houston Dash at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
First the first time in six years, Lines was not on the sidelines for Saturday’s record 5-0 win over the defending National Women’s Soccer League champion Thorns in Portland. It was the most one-sided score in league history and ended a five-game Flash winless streak. Samantha Kerr, who had five points in the Flash victory, was named NWSL Player of the Week for her performance.
Wambach and Lloyd will be away at the U.S. National Team Camp preparing for matches against France on June 14 and 19. Houston also will be missing two National Team players.
The Flash will be out to avenge a 2-1 home loss to the expansion Houston team on May 31.
WNY also has signed Australian National Team defender Teigen Allen and is awaiting the completion paper work.
The Flash will open a four-game home stand against the Chicago Red Stars on June 18 at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester.
