Carli Lloyd scored off a pass from Abby Wambach in the 53rd minute to give the Western New York Flash a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Reign FC, Wednesday night at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, and moved a step closer to clinching one of the fourth places in the National Women’s Soccer League playoffs.

Lloyd started the scoring play with a pass to Wambach, who drew the defenders to her, then returned the ball to Lloyd for the score.

The Flash (9-4-7 for 34 points) moved into a tie for second place with Sky Blue FC (10-6-4) and Portland (10-6-4), each with two games remaining. The Flash will face Portland at 7:35 Saturday night in Rochester.
