ROCHESTER – The WNY Flash was outshot, 20-9, but still managed a 1-1 tie with FC Kansas City in a National Women’s Soccer League game played before 2,916 Sahlen’s Stadium.
Both goals were scored in the first half. Sarah Hagen gave the visitors the early lead. Samantha Kerr of the Flash answered with a goal in the 22nd minute on an assist from Carli Lloyd.
Goalkeeper Kelsey Wys had seven saves for the Flash (7-9-3), who are two points out of the fourth place, the final playoff spot, with five games to play.
The Flash host Boston at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
