Explanations don’t get any simpler than the following frank thoughts from ESPN’s John Clayton:

What have the Bills been thinking all year in regard to their offensive line? Their problems are all self-inflicted. They didn’t redo Jason Peters’ contract and traded him. They figured Langston Walker could replace him at left tackle. He couldn’t and was cut. They gave up on Derrick Dockery. After those moves, they were grasping at straws. They obviously made a mistake in switching to the no-huddle offense, but their no-huddle approach to personnel decisions about the offensive line has left them defenseless, and Trent Edwards has paid the price.

Is it any wonder why they call Clayton “The Professor?” He has hit the Bills braintrust’s ineptitude right on the nose. The day after the season ends, I say fire Jauron and Pro Personnel Man John Guy, and put Russ Brandon back in the marketing department where he belongs. Then hire a true football man to be general manager, and secure a proven, winning head coach.

These steps will get us on the right track back to the players.
