No. 6 Duke 80, St. John’s 71: Kyle Singler scored 10 of his 17 points in the second half as the Blue Devils scored 17 straight points in the first half and won their NCAA-record 73rd straight nonconference game at home.
No. 8 Syracuse 101, Maine 55: Freshman guard Brandon Triche had 16 points, Arinze Onuaku added 14 and the Orange improved to 8-0 all-time against the Black Bears. Syracuse led, 60-12, at halftime.
No. 15 Ohio State 111, Eastern Michigan 60: The Buckeyes’ win was marred by a serious injury to Evan Turner, who will miss eight weeks after being fouled on a dunk attempt. He held onto the rim too long and landed on his back out of bounds, suffering broken bones in his back.
No. 16 Georgetown 73, American 46: Chris Wright and Henry Sims scored 12 points and Greg Monroe had nine points and a career-high 13 rebounds for the Hoyas.
Wake Forest 77, No. 17 Gonzaga 75: C. J. Harris scored 19 points and Wake Forest upset the Bulldogs in a physical matchup that featured several technicals and the game-changing ejection of Gonzaga’s second-leading scorer and top re-bounder, Elias Harris.
Charlotte 87, No. 20 Louisville 65: Derrio Green had a career-high 20 points and the 49ers handed the Cardinals their worst home loss under Rick Pitino.
