Hill takes MAC long jump

AKRON, Ohio—Fatimah Hill of the University at Buffalo won the Mid-American Conference women’s long jump championship on Friday.

Hill jumped 19 feet, 9b inche 1/3 (6.04 meters) to take the title by more than five inches over Ashley Hunault of Western Michigan. Hill had already qualified for the NCAA East Regional championships later this month.

Caitlin Godin of UB finished second in the women’s heptathlon, while teammate Jake Madonia was the runner-up in the men’s shot put.

Entering today’s competition, the UB men’s squad is in sixth place, while the women are in fourth place.
