Top five games of the season

1. UB 30, Temple 28: The Bulls were mere seconds (five) away from a crushing defeat in their conference opener when Drew Willy hooked up with Naaman Roosevelt on a 35-yard Hail Mary pass in the end zone as time expired to set the tone for the season.

2. UB 42, Ball State 24: The Cardinals were trying to become the first MAC team since 1999 to finish unbeaten and the Bulls were a heavy underdog until two fumble recoveries for touchdowns gave UB its first league championship.

3. UB 40, Bowling Green 34 (2 OT): The Bulls had never beaten the Falcons on the road, but James Starks’ 25-yard touchdown run in the second overtime gave the Bulls the MAC East Division title.

4. UB 43, Akron 40 (4 OT): It took four overtimes and a 40-yard field goal by A. J. Principe to finally end it, but the Bulls were bowl eligible for the first time since returning to the Football Bowl Subdivision.

5. Central Michigan 27, UB 25: This was the second part of a three-game losing streak that threatened to harm the Bulls’ dream season but it was evidence that UB could stand toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the MAC.
