Delaware State 35, Florida A&M 28 (OT): QB Vashon Winton ran for four TDs, including a 6-yarder for the winner, as the Hornets opened defense of their Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title.

Navy at Ball State (7 p. m., ESPN): The Walter Camp Football Foundation named Navy senior slot back Shun White its Bowl Subdivision National Offensive Player of the Week for his 348 rushing yards on just 19 carries in last week’s 41-13 triumph over Towson.

Cincinnati: Quarterback Ben Mauk, earlier denied a sixth year of eligibility because injuries that prevented him from playing his freshman season, has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA in an attempt to gain an extra season. He threw for 31 touchdowns last season.
