Updated: 02/07/10 12:53 AM

The University at Buffalo women finished fifth in a 14-team field and the men took seventh among 12 teams in the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup indoor track and field meet at Penn State. Sophomore Kristy Woods was a double winner for the Bulls as she won the shot put for the fifth straight week with a throw of 53.-0.25 and the weight throw with a toss of 58-10.25. The UB men were paced by the distance medley relay team, which won in a school record 9:54.65. The foursome of John Bauman (Williamsville North), Isaiah Mask, Shaun Brummert and Ryan Zillmann cut more than five seconds off the old mark, set in 2006. The time also lowered UB's IC4A qualification mark. Rob Golabek (Frontier) finished second but broke the men's record in the shot put at 59-7.75, adding 5 inches to the mark he set last week.
