Over the weekend, the Buffalo Stars Pee Wee Major team participated in the Festival of Lights Tournament at Hyde Park. Games started on Friday afternoon with a 2-2 tie against the Grundy Senators. Friday night, the team faced the Tonawanda Lightning and defeated them, 1-0. Saturday afternoon, the Stars were back at the rink to face the Bud Bakewell Bruins, and skated away with a 2-1 win.

The championship game was on Sunday afternoon, again facing the Bud Bakewell Bruins. It resulted in a 4-1 win for the Stars.


The Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles Squirt majors recently won the Squirt Major Division of the Niagara University Jr. Purple Eagles Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament at Dwyer Arena. Members of the team, which is 18-4-3 overall and ranked 40th in the nation among Tier II programs, include: head coach Mark Mendel, Cam King, Reese Mendel, Michael Barker, Peter Lysiak, Kyle Lee, Drew Merino, Vince Capolupo, Chris Cacciatore, Jackson Burns, Anthony Desimone, Patrick Brady, Dylan Russo, Nick Harlock, Alex Pronobis, Tyler Lehan, Om Acharya and Dylan Lugris.

BASEBALL: The Niagara University baseball program will hold its annual Winter Indoor Baseball School on Sundays from Jan. 12 to Feb. 9. HOCKEY: The Buffalo Stars will offer a beginner hockey and Learn-to-Skate program on Saturday and Dec. 11, 14, 21, and 28.
