BOOK SIGNING: The Buffalo History Museum will stage a signing by more than 50 local authors on Saturday between 12 noon and 2 p.m. Among those appearing will be News sports reporter/editor Budd Bailey, who will sign copies of his new book, “Today in Buffalo Sports History.”
SKATING: The Police Athletic League of Buffalo will present learn to skate programs on Saturdays during December and January at the Timothy J. Burvid Rink in Cazenovia Park and the Bud Bakewell Rink in Riverside Park. The program at the Riverside Rink will run 1-2:20 p.m. beginning Saturday, Dec. 7 and running through Jan. 18. There will be no lessons on Dec. 28. Skating at the Cazenovia Rink will run from 3:30-4:50 p.m. beginning Saturday, Dec. 7 and running through Jan. 18. There will be no lessons on Dec. 28. The program is open to ages four through adult and the registration fee is $25. Participants must bring their own skates or rent them at the site. Helmets and mittens are recommended for all participants. Applications are available at both ice rinks, at the Police Athletic League Offices on the 21st floor of Buffalo’s City Hall, or on the PAL website: www.buffalopal.com.
