Buffalo State, the No. 2 seed, will be making just its second appearance in the SUNYAC women’s soccer playoff semifinals when it faces No. 6 seed Geneseo at 1 p.m. today on Coyer Field.
The Bengals (11-5-2, 6-2-1 SUNYAC) bring an impressive defensive record into game. The Bengals set a school record with 10 shutouts and allowed just 11 goals. Eight of the 11 victories were 1-0. Senior Linda Banfield was in goal for all 10 shutouts. Gabrianna Boldinski (Kenmore East), Liz Malinowski (Williamsville South) and Marissa Lombard (Hamburg) helped shore up the back line.

SWIMMING: St. Bonaventure’s Viacheslav Shchukin was named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week with three first-place finishes against LaSalle including the 100-yard freestyle. His time of 44.09 ranks seventh in the nation.
