RICHMOND, Va. — St. Bonaventure fell into an 11-0 hole, scored only four points in the first half and was easily eliminated by Fordham, 73-32, Saturday in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Conference women’s basketball tournament in the Richmond Coliseum.

After ending Fordham’s starting run on a jump shot by Katie Healy (Lancaster), the Bonnies didn’t score again until there was 1:29 left in the first half. That was after a 22-0 Fordham run.

In the second half St. Bonaventure didn’t get its first basket until a layup by Healy made it 56-10 with 9:47 left to play.

Turnovers weren’t a problem. Bona had only 10, two fewer than the Rams. Fordham had a 43-29 rebounding advantage, but Bona had 13 offensive boards to just 6 for Fordham. Fouls were not the problem, either. Fordham was 0 for 6 on free throws, but made 30 of 52 field goal attempts (57.7), including 13 of 22 three-pointers.

The Bonnies (23-10) shot only 16.7 percent (9 of 54, including 2 of 13 from three-point range).

Healy led the Bonnies with 12 points and nine rebounds. Hannah Little, a late season standout for Bona, shot 0 for 11 and finished with three points. Little did have 11 rebounds, six offensively.
