St. Bonaventure will be home to Charlotte Friday in a first-round game of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Tipoff time is yet to be announced for the game in the Reilly Center.
The Bonnies (23-10) finished the regular season in second place in the Atlantic 10 Conference, but lost in the semifinals of the conference tournament to eventual champion Fordham.
Charlotte (15-15, 9-7 C-USA) is a former Atlantic 10 member now in Conference USA. As the No. 6 seed, the 49ers lost in the opening round of C-USA postseason tournament to Louisiana Tech, 64-55.
The 49ers are led by senior Ny Hammonds, a second team all-conference performer who is averaging 11.4 and Gabby Tyler (12.0).
The WNIT field of 64 teams includes Duquesne and George Washington from the A-10 as well as Quinnipiac and Iona from the Metro Atlantic and Bowling Grenen, Ball State and Central Michigan from the Mid-American Conference.
