West Seneca Post 735 scored seven runs in the sixth inning to pull away from South Charleston, W.Va. and advance in the Mid-Atlantic Region American Legion baseball tournament with a 10-4 victory on Saturday in Brooklawn, N.J.

West Seneca moves on to take on New Castle, Del. at 1 p.m. today.

West Seneca trailed, 2-1, when it scored seven runs on just four hits in the sixth. Paul Wujek went 3-for-3 while Ian Allen and Noah Thompson finished 3-for-5 in the game. Wujek and Allen each added an RBI.

The competition runs through Monday.

Buffalo New Era Muny Champ U Diesel advanced to today’s NABF World Series semifinals with a convincing 12-2 win over host Battle Creek Behnke on Saturday in Battle Creek, Mich.

U Diesel will play the winner of Fedell Mechanics (Conn.) and Clifton Canes, who were scheduled to play Saturday night. A win puts U Diesel in the championship at 4 Monday after against the winner of the Pittsburgh St. John’s Lefties and Connecticut Baybrook Remodelers .

Jesse Zeller (Tonawanda) drove in three runs, including a towering 450-foot home run that ignited the team. Ryan Baroudi, Bart Stack, and Neal Demartin each had three hits in the rout. Zach Jordan got the win and Cameron Carney earned the save.
