Buffalo New Era Muny Champion U Diesel had its run in the NABF World Series end in the semifinals on Sunday. U Diesel was eliminated by Fedell Mechanics of Bridgeport, Conn., 11-1, in Battle Creek, Mich.

With the score tied, 1-1, in the sixth, Fedell picked up eight runs on seven hits after two outs.

U Diesel, which ended the season 25-7, placed four members on the NABF All-World Series team — BJ Stack, Neal Demartin, Ryan Baroudi, and Kevin Hughes.

In the American Legion Baseball Mid-Atlantic Regional, West Seneca Post 735 jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and stayed alive, defeating New Castle (Delaware), 6-1, in Camden, N.J.

Second baseman Noah Thompson drove in two runs, going 2 for 4 as West Seneca collected 10 hits. Paul Wujek and Alex Pacer also drove in runs as only two of the six runs were earned.

Bill Sulkowski pitched the complete game, giving up one run in the seventh. He scattered eight hits with three strikeouts, one walk and one wild pitch.

West Seneca improved to 31-4 overall and moves to the championship game after losing the first game of the tournament and then winning the next three. It will play host Brooklawn (N.J.), which is undefeated in the regional.
