MOOSIC, Pa. — A double off the centerfield wall gave the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders a 6-5 win over the Buffalo Bisons at PNC Field Tuesday night.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Scott Sizemore singled. Then Zollo Almonte doubled to center and Anthony Gose had a difficult time handling a wet ball to relay the throw to home. Sizemore scored standing up to give the RailRiders the win.

It will be a quick turnaround as the teams have a morning game today with first pitch scheduled for 10:35 a.m. (Radio 1520).

The RailRiders took a 3-0 lead in the third and chased starter Ricky Romero after five innings. Romero gave up five runs (four earned) on nine hits with four strikeouts.

The Herd chipped away at the lead tying it in the sixth when Kevin Nolan had an RBI triple and Munenori Kawasaki had a sacrifice fly.

The Bisons had a great scoring chance in the ninth, but Dan Johnson grounded into a double play and Matt Tuiasosopo struck out looking to end the inning.

In today’s game, Kyle Drabek (1-1, 7.07 earned run average) is scheduled to start for the Herd.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Toronto Blue Jays claimed outfielder Darin Mastroianni off waivers from the Minnesota Twins and optioned him to the Bisons.

Mastroianni began the season with the Rochester Red Wings and was promoted to the Twins after hitting .450 with two doubles and two runs batted in four games in Triple-A.
