With the Buffalo Bisons being rained out for the third time in four games, the only movement on Monday was off the field involving two lefthanded pitchers.
The Herd promoted lefty Richard Bleier to the roster from Double-A New Hampshire. Also, Toronto southpaw J.A. Happ will join the team as part of an major league baseball injury rehabilitation assignment. He is scheduled to start for the Herd on Thursday against Pawtucket.
Bleier will be active for Buffalo’s game against the IronPigs in Lehigh Valley tonight at 7 (Radio 1520 AM). Bleier, 26, made one apperance for New Hampshire this year, throwing 1.2 innings of shutout relief on Friday in Trenton.
Happ has not pitched this season after being placed on the disabled list in spring training with lower back tightness. He was 5-7 with a 4.56 ERA in 18 starts for Toronto last season.
