Locked in a four-way battle for the wild-card playoff berth in the International League, the Buffalo Bisons will face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in a doubleheader tonight at Coca-Cola Field (5:30, Radio 1520), the first of five weekend games between the teams.

The Bisons will send right-hander Thad Weber (5-4, 2.64) to the mound in the opener against Chris Bootcheck (9-5, 3.70). Reliever Bobby Korecky (3-0, 4.57) will get the spot start for the Herd in the nightcap.

Buffalo (59-57) trails Norfolk (62-56) and Pawtucket (61-56) in the wild-card standings and leads fourth-place Lehigh Valley (60-58) by just percentage points.

The Bisons gained a split in a four-game home series against Pawtucket with Tuesday night’s wild 12-8 win over the Red Sox. The team had Wednesday off. The Bisons and RailRiders will play Friday night at Coca-Cola Field, then meet each other in a two-game series in Bethlehem, Pa., Saturday - Sunday afternoon.

Before the weekend is over, Marty Brown could get the three wins he needs to become the first Bisons manager in the modern era with 300 wins. Tuesday night’s win over Pawtucket was the 298th for Brown in his two tours piloting the Herd.
