THIRD QUARTER

Another false start cost the Bills dearly. They had a nice march going and faced first-and-10 at the Titans’ 11. Given the difficulty they have getting into good scoring position, they probably needed to punch the ball in for a touchdown.
But on first down, veteran guard Seth McKinney was called for a false start, pushing the Bills back to the 16. Trent Edwards was forced to scramble on two of the next three plays, and the Bills settled for a 25-yard Rian Lindell field goal to tie the game, 17-17.Penalties: The Titans had the ball at the Buffalo 40 but then were called for a hold and a false start. They were forced to punt.
Key play: Edwards was stopped for no gain on a third-and-1 quarterback sneak on the Bills’ 20-yard line with 1:57 left in the quarter.
Second guess:The Bills have converted on the quarterback sneak numerous times this year, but they took too long at the line of scrimmage on that play. A quicker snap would have given Edwards a better chance to convert.
